Service Overview

Formed in 1994, Rooftop Housing Group have since helped people in housing need get a safe, secure, and appropriate home.

The organisation is at the heart of the communities in which they operate, having over 6,700 homes in South Worcestershire and North Gloucestershire making some vibrant communities.

In 2023 Rooftop decided to tender their cleaning contract at a site in Shrewsbury. They wanted to appoint an experienced service provider to deliver a good quality communal cleaning service including the cleaning of shared apartments and town houses which accommodate key workers in the health care sector.

Services Provided

Roofton housing groups had several issues with their current that needed addressing. The issues they had with their existing supplier included:-

  • A contractor who was not local and had no back up plan for absence management or quality control
  • Variable levels of cleaning quality in the key worker accommodation
  • Little/no communication with the contractor
  • No supervision or management of the locally based employees
  • Irregular start and end times for the local staff
  • A complicated billing arrangement for regular and one off deep cleans

What problems did Wrekin Housing Group face?

Prime Facilities ticked all the boxes that they required from a contractor, namely:-

  • A local supervisor and Area Manager (both based from nearby Telford) to support and manage the on site team
  • A digital audit system using an app called “Go Audit” to help improve and measure the quality of the work
  • Regular weekly communication with the local office in Telford
  • Fixed start and end times for the staff who use an app-based time and attendance system called “U Attend”
  • One fixed cost per month including the regular work and a set amount of deep cleans
