Types of Cladding Cleaning

There are a variety of cladding cleaning methods available to suit different cladding-based materials. The most common cladding materials include brick, stone, metal, composite, and glass. Here is a brief overview of the most popular types of cladding cleaning:

Brick Cladding Cleaning: A pressure washer is the best tool for cleaning brick cladding. Use a wide-angle nozzle to avoid damaging the bricks. Start from the bottom and work your way up.

Stone Cladding Cleaning: For stone cladding, you will need a stiff brush and some elbow grease! Start by wetting down the area to be cleaned. Then, using circular motions, scrub the stone with the brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Metal Cladding Cleaning: Metal cladding can be cleaned with a pressure washer or a garden hose. If using a pressure washer, start from the bottom and work your way up. Use a wide-angle nozzle to avoid damaging the metal. If using a garden hose, wet down the area and then scrub with a stiff brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Composite Cladding Cleaning: Composite cladding is best cleaned with a soft brush and some mild soap. Wet down the area to be cleaned and then gently scrub with the brush. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Glass Cladding Cleaning: Glass cladding can be cleaned with a window cleaner and a squeegee. Spray the area to be cleaned and then use the squeegee to remove the cleaner. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

What Customers Say

Would just like to say how great your team have worked and what a difference has been made to the central stairwell. Two more to go and sure they will look great too. I have thanked them but if you could also let them know their dedication to detail hasn’t gone unnoticed by other Wrekin staff.

We moved to larger premises near Wolverhampton in the summer of 2010 and decided to invest in regular cleaning services for our new offices.

We tendered our business and awarded our contract to Prime Facility Services who already had clients on our industrial estate and came recommended.

Since Prime Facility Services took over they have never let us down and the standard of their work is very high. We get a regular visit from the local supervisor and communication and co-operation between both parties is excellent.

I would not hesitate in recommending Prime Facility Services to other local companies.

In 2007 our superstore was using a large cleaning company called Rentokil Initial for our cleaning requirements. However, for a number of months we encountered numerous problems with Initial such as no cover for holidays, high turnover of supervisors and generally poor planning and communication. We tried to meet with Initial to solve these problems as we are a busy 7 day/week superstore but they often failed to turn up for meetings. We were then approached by Prime Facility Services who already had contracts in our area.

Since Prime Facility Services commenced operations in January 2009 we have been delighted with the change. The cleaning standards are consistently high and the local supervisor sorts out any problems and manages holidays and absence very well. This means we can concentrate on other more important parts of our business...

In 2008 we opened new, purpose built premises in Erdington, Birmingham. To ensure these facilities are kept in good condition we approached Prime Facility Services to take over the management of the cleaning services contract as they already cleaned another Midlands office for us.

I am happy to recommend Prime Facility Services and in our experience we have found them to be efficient, reliable and give us excellent value for money.

In 2006 the Shropshire Fire Authority tender was issued and Prime Facility Services were invited to bid. Initially the Authority decided to retain the incumbent supplier – Mitie Cleaning – who was the most economic. However, after a lengthy period of sub standard service, lack of local support and unresolved problems the contract was terminated with Mitie and placed with Prime Facilities.

Since Prime Facility Services commenced operations in January 2008 the Authority and its staff have been delighted with the change. The cleaning standards have improved, the local supervisors have built and maintained excellent relationships at each site, any problems are quickly resolved and the monthly customer satisfaction scores have been consistently high...

Frequently Asked Questions

Cladding cleaning is an important part of maintaining the appearance of your work building. We specialise in this type of cleaning, offering a variety of services to keep cladding materials looking their best. These services include power washing, chemical treatments, manual scrubbing and brushing, and low-pressure water blasting. All of these methods are designed to remove dirt, dust, mould, mildew, graffiti and other contaminants while preserving the integrity of the cladding material.
Power washing is one of the most efficient ways to clean cladding. The process involves using high-pressure jets of water to dislodge dirt and debris from surfaces such as metal or stone cladding.

Manual scrubbing and brushing are great ways for our specialist team to get rid of stubborn dirt and stains from cladding surfaces. This method requires more physical labour than power washing or chemical treatment but can be effective in removing tough dirt deposits without damaging the underlying material.

Cladding cleaning should always be done by qualified professionals who have the necessary experience and knowledge of different materials and techniques. We offer professional cladding cleaning services that will ensure your workplace building looks its best for years to come.

When it comes to cleaning your cladding, the frequency with which you do so will depend on a number of factors. These include the type you have, the location of your property, and the level of traffic that passes by your home.
If you live in an area with high levels of pollution, for example, then you may need to clean your surfaces more often than someone who lives in a rural area. Similarly, if you have timber cladding, it will need to be cleaned more often than brick or stone cladding.

As a general rule of thumb, you should aim to clean your cladding at least once a year. This will ensure that it stays looking its best and doesn’t succumb to dirt and grime build-up.

If you have any questions about how often you should clean your cladding, or if you need help with any other aspect of cladding maintenance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team of experts. We’ll be happy to provide you with all the advice and assistance you need.

If you’re thinking about pressure washing your cladding, you might be wondering if it will damage the material. While pressure washing can be a great way to clean your surfaces, it’s important to be aware that it can also damage the material if you’re not careful.

Pressure washing can cause physical damage to your cladding if the water pressure is too high or if you hold the nozzle too close to the surface. This can create tiny holes or cracks in the cladding, which can then lead to water damage and deterioration over time.

We have a trained and experienced team of professionals to ensure that your surfaces are cleaned properly and without damage.
